The BBC2 "TWO" logo was lasted from March 31, 1986 to Feb. 15, 1991.
It was designed by Alan Jeapes, the designer of BBC1's Soap Opera "EastEnders".
It was done by a digitalized Computer animation.

No, it was by far the dullest channel identity ever, if not one of them. They were right to drop it, and if they didn't drop it, we would've had to wait even longer til those legendary 2s hit our screens.

@MattemoTV Actually, I always laugh at "away it goes forever," because that logo actually showed up not even *two seconds later* on the clock! (Of course, after the clock faded out, *then* it became "forever"... until the '80s night you mention, of course.)

@AtheistBrit Of course, the problem with that statement is that several ITV companies and Channel 4 all had far more interesting and memorable logos *at the time* than the T\\'O. But then, presumably those companies had more money to spend on graphics than the BBC...

@thelyniezian I tend to agree, myself; the T\\'O is more bland than it is actively bad, and the 2s that followed it were so imaginative and brilliant that it further made this look even worse for the comparison. But it's not a terrible logo by any means, and might even qualify as "underrated" depending on how charitable you want to be.
The form-up actually reminds me a lot of the mid-'80s LWT "Genesis" logo. All it needs is a music jingle...

People should bear in mind that this was 1986-1991... there just weren't the flashy graphics we currently have. Yes it was a bit of a dull logo, but of course it would be, given the time period. :)
