FPV Video Piloted Mentor at Torquay Beach.
I should just add, this plane really is not set up as a showcase video plane, normally i just FPV it for my own enjoyment.
It does have 4 sweet spots in the throttle range where NO CMOS vibration/cam scan rate clash happens.
Yes, CMOS cameras dont like vibration, but when flying in the throttle sweet spots, there is no real wave effect visible.
If i only had one plane that i fly fpv, then i would use the SN777 camera.
I do have various CCD cameras, dont use them because i dont like them.
But embarrassingly having more than a half dozen opperational fpv planes means i can really only afford to use cmos cameras in most of them.

cheers

  • Cool flight, 5*. I'm nearly sorted for FPV here on my 600 ESP, although all CCD cams, main one is Sony Hi-Res EXvision +HQ chipset, plus 5 assorted 5V colour cams (board level and light) Using 9CH 35MHz for radio and 5.8GHz for downlink with twin RX, 8db patches & Oracle into PC based H264, 4Ch DVR (hardware compression) and LCD glasses etc.. taking a while to pull this lot together though.

    should be worth the wait.

  • Steve, thats going to be a killer setup.

The quality will be incredible, very nice gear, look forward to seeing how you go.cheers

  • added a little more explanation in the info section above.

  • your plane vibres too much for a cmos camera,

are you happy with your ccd killer ?

  • I really like the CCD killer's to fly with, great colour and light handling, small, light, cheap, lol.

Yes, the poor old plane has been through a bit, and not running true anymore. been rammed into a gutter earlier that day, a wooden barrier 2 weeks ago, and hit the top of a 50ft gum tree the day before and managed to bounce off every branch on the way down before plowing into the ground nose first, lol.

Really was not flying nice this day, motor mount was broken, thrust line completely out.

  • Thanks,

Have 2 modules on that radio, 36Mhz for long range, and 2.4 Spektrum for closer flying.

Only use one or the other, mostly have Spectrum recievers, the good Futaba ones are too expensive really.

    cheers
