joyfules, touching story......we all hear wonderful songs like this that we lived through and when hearing it it brings us to a certain era in our lives and all over again we run through the gamut of emotions.....happiness, sadness, heartbreak, and immense love. I too remember a story like the one you tell and your post certainly touches me deeply....it is funny in a sense how music shapes and molds and transforms our lives and sometimes we never even realize it......thanks for sharing

I can't hear this without thinkin of my best friend from high school...one of the most magical and loving amazing people ever. She and her boyfriend, this was their song. They met at college, and had a long distance that first summer. ...1986...He had bought an engagement ring...but she died in a tragic accident, and instead of coming to visit and put a ring on her finger, he came to her funeral. 25 years and I still cry when I think of it.
