The video, "ATVs and Kids, Safety First", describes the public health concern of increasing injuries and death from ATV use in children younger than 16 years of age. Use of ATVs and an explanation of the dangers inherent for pediatric drivers are discussed. The incidence of injuries and death in children and reasons why children are especially at risk are described. Position statements by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics give recommendations of actions to be taken to prevent injuries for adolescent ATV drivers.
