I think it's just a start. Our country never was perfect, no one was truly equal or free, and the election of Obama is merely a start in recognizing the need to bring our country out of darkness. Now this stuff about Harry Reid is a bit disturbing, but really he merely spoke the truth about Obama's light skin color. But so what? What was the racist remark? Was it in reference to his ability to lead? I don't think so, it was just an inane comment that should have been kept to himself.
