I respect cockrel and hendrix, but at a time when the city so desperately needs investment, why would mayoral candidates say that hearing gunshots and having your property stolen is the definition of a real detroiter? a real detroiter is not measured by where you live, but by giving back. bill ford lives in ann arbor, i guess he is not a real detroiter either. marvin gaye was born in DC. guess he was not a real detroiter either. aliyah lived in southfield, guess shes not a detroiter either.

I have not picked a candidate yet, and a number seem better than the last mayor. With that said, competence seems to be a bigger issue than residence. Detroit hasn't done all that will pulling from inside.
