Greatest time in my life.... My 6 transistor radio was always on.
WeI loved WLS radio, I fondly remember the "Top 3 most requested songs" at 10 PM. A'hhhh those were the best of times. Sitting on someones front porch, listening to WLS on the radio.
KXOK (St Louis) was another great station for Sunday mornings. The One Eyed Jacks were a really great band.

Man that was the days back then. Not any more . Bring back the AM stations.

Ah, WLS...listened every night after the sun set...way down in MS...I still can hear the hits...sometimes barely audible through the static that was AM. I miss those days...many good memories...girl friends....high school....to be able to re-live those days.

On top of a pizza
All covered with cheese
I saw my first meatball
'Til somebody sneezed.
Biondi used to sign this regularly.

I also would give almost anything to hear radio like this again. I used to listen to WLS and Dick Biondi late at night - we got good reception on the bounce in West Tennessee - I loved it. I was listening the night that Dick Biondi was "released". heard that joke!!

Listening to this makes me 14 years old again!

50,000 Watt flamethrower, it was great!!
I wish I could turn the radio on and hear it the way it once was.....long ago. It wasn't just the music, it was all that plus the personalities, the jingles and even the commercials....all delivered with seemingly cool precision in a giddyingly fast paced format. There is nothing like it now.

The 60's was the best era for rock and roll and WLS was the midwest giant in radio then. WLS is now on FM,but the AM days were the best part of our lives.
