Irish Trash Can Cocktail

Holy crap, this redbull based cocktail has a few alcohols in it, including vodka, blue curacao, light rum, peach schnapps and some triple sec.

I apologize for saying this. I love the show, and all the effort that was put into it, and actually watched all of the testing videos (except absthine) for ABV. But this drink was horrid. Maybe it's just that I don't like redbull (I don't), but bleh. Even used my premiums for it (Absolut, Cruzan , etc) maybe if I shook them all prior to this then maybe, but where the Long Island has a clash of flavors that makes it tasty, this felt like a waste of liquor. Not your fault, just saying.

@majingohan28 I don't think every drink will be favored by all. Some drinks I adore, that are pretty sweet make my brother cringe and put it down. Some people's palates are just much different, some want more sweet, others sour, some bitter and some savory (e.g. bloody mary, etc) and others herbal. I don't want to make a drink that only one type of person would like, however, many tend to be sweeter I think.

@ballsofrock yeah, I love walking by random people I don't know performing for others and just call them names. :-) Imagine if people really did what they do in comments on "anonymous" websites, even to folks like us that bust ass to create online content for people to watch that are interested? God, life would be much different :)

I tried this without using rum and I didn't find a burn so my guess is the burn is coming from the light rum....unless I messed it up

@VaIium instead of regular vodka? Personally, I would think vanilla vodka would work in most cocktails over regular vodka :)

@everydaydrinkers that's how this world should be, I don't see why people feel its necessary to go out of their way to bring others down, its a waste of time and disrespectful. Do you think this could work with a vanilla vodka (since I already have some of that) or should I go buy a 750mL?

@VaIium Thanks, I do what I can to disarm people using basic human social interaction. Some find that "anonymous" commenting means they can be mean spirited; some only come by to leave scathing comments, so ... I just deal with 'em as they come. Yelling back won't make them a viewer, so why bother.

To poor man on this one, I'd use lower cost ingredients; most of the ingredients for this are relatively cheap (in NH about $10-11 a bottle) with exception of the gin--just get a cheap one:)

I really think its professional how you deal with unappreciative viewers, very admirable. On another note, I really wanted to try this recipe, but I don't have quite the variety of liquors as you, nor the money to try all these. I'm very interested in trying this and was wondering if you could suggest a poor man's version of this drink? If so it would be much appreciated, if not that's understandable :P thanks again!
