This footage, courtesy the Washington State University's Extension Communications and Educational Support, was taken around the Palouse area in Eastern Washington in the mid-1940s. It shows horses pulling combines and other agricultural work.
This weekend, the Eastern Washington Agricultural Museum, opens. It includes acreage to demonstrate how wheat used to be harvested by horsepower.
