This isn't a kata, but surely this is the "I-form". Although today's I-form is a little bit different. Firstly the blocks. Today's blocks initiate with the fist of the blocking arm coming down, from the cheek. And secondly the turns: Today's turns initiate with the rear leg crossing behind the lead and then you pivot the torso. Other than those two differences nothing else has changed.

Funakoshi had higher stances. Possibly due to the fact he wasn't tall himself. Nowadays SKA stances are much lower.

one thing i find odd is the video is missed up just at the face level, that smells alittle fishy to me.
