I've started making gas bottle log burning stoves after seeing them here on youtube, dodgy and sometimes out of focus video (sorry) but hopefully you'll get the idea also a glimpse of a brickette maker I made, bit simpler than most, a lot of them seemed to be over-engineered just to squash water out of paper pulp..........anyhow, thanks for looking............Mart

  • what did you cut it with?

  • @crazyguy123073 Hi, just a handheld 4" grinder with a thin cutting disc and a steady hand. I ran a ring of tape around as a guideline and tried my best to stay on it, I also mark across the cut in a couple of places to be sure the "door" goes back in exactly the same place....

  • these sell for £60 to £100 plus on ebay, going to have a crack myself, put what the best way to discharge the gas bottle without blowing myself to bits, also see your using dried fuel, have you thought about using beat, burns very well.

  • @battlestarone Hi, these were made whilst I was living in Portugal and sold for 150 euros. The safest way I found to discharge the bottles completely (I'm still here) was to remove the valve from the top, these are brass so no sparks then turn the bottle upside down because gas is heavier than air so will "drain" out, then turn the bottle the right way up and insert a hose into the hole, leave this running for half an hour or so, the water will expel any remaining gas. It's now safe to work on!

  • Nice stoves ..... Almost finished mine after far too long building it. Have you 'fired' them yet? and how successful are the newspaper seaweed logs? Great work .... keep it up.

  • @rohojamagic Hi, firstly, thank you ,but yours is much nicer (just get it finished) lol. Built 3 and sold them all, there is one of my videos showing on lit, they burn well and with an air valve high up they reburn the smoke (wood gas). The logs work well, not as good as proper logs but free! I've found that once it's going if I load it up with charcoal it stays really hot for ages (difficult to get coal in Portugal)....thanks again......Mart

  • You do really good work. On the 2nd stove is that a good spot to have the vent or is there a better spot?

  • Really beautiful designs and solid engineering. Thank you for posting.

  • Very nice job.
