  • Doesn't surprise me that Chinese Martial Arts was the birth giver to many...many things.

  • Doesnt surprise me Tatsuo had profound knowledge of kung fu.

  • @disclaimer05 no its not. the vertical punchis far superior to a twist punch. that is the trademark trait of isshin ryu.

  • @martialfu not saying that is all there is too it simply saying that the movement shown here do make it seem tai chi had a role in ishinryu's development, perhaps only indirectly or throught a lot of diferent arts or perhaps directly

  • @Muraku666 many martial arts have the same movments and whats more an art can have more than one origin, that being said wing chun and white crane have the same origins and uisshinryu is supposed to be derived off more than one art a major similar art being goju ryu and its predesesors which arise from white crane not wing chun(look it up the person who taught the original wing chun kung fu to miss wing tsun also taught white crane and is consisdered its founder)

  • I'm sorry, but your theory is convoluted. Isshin Ryu actually is drive from Wing Chun. t even has many of the same movements that carried over.

  • 3:43 the man is punching wrong, the thumb isn't in the correct position ;).

    Interesting.

  • I would be interested in know how much and what style of Tai Chi Chuan that the author studied. I do not come to the same conclusion myself.

  • Very nice, Sensei!

    Tim Schutte

  • I have taken both for years and find they compliment each other. Many similarities between the two, but of course all martial arts have similarities since they all try to achive the same goal.
