Thankfuly it's not the original paint, it's a hidious colour and the engine will be repainted.
This engine would have been the same sort of colour as my Wolseley is now.

Yeah it does sound a bit diseasaly....I expect either the big end is not tight or it has too many shims in it....

Thank you, yes that pump was retreived from a skip, totaly unused. It just had a stripped thread so was chucked. It's probably not even "run in" yet!
The plan with this engine is to pair it with one of the large Metropolitan Vickers 12V dynamos. I have located some 12v bayonet lamps and I will build a "showmans" style genset all under a canopy with lights round the edge.
