This was the only film that Kate Winslet used her original accent for. All of her other films she's been in, are all put on. I loved this 'cause it was so natural. ♥

Me too, the only thing I hate about this movie is that Iris's story isn't in it enough, and hers is far more interesting than Amanda's, IMHO

I love the friendship between Arthur and Iris . He makes Iris see her true worth as a woman and that she shouldn't settle for less than she deserves. It's Arthur's words that give Iris the "gumption" ( as he put it ) to end for good Jasper's cruel game with her heart when he tracks her down in LA. I agree fakegirl , Iris's journey from the doormat "best friend " into a confident , take no crap "leading lady " is more interesting then Amanda's " I can't cry " storyline.
