Chugach = nice people that are highly skilled on this river. If a commercial operation were not exceptional they would not get all their clientele down this section alive.
I took an 18 ft Campways down on a regular basis. We started doing Commercial trips in 1983. The second year in spring I swore every trip I would never go again. I never swam but saw enough people swim to know I NEVER wanted to get that water. My first trip was accidental. 12 foot fishing raft. Thought we were on Canyon Creek. Made it to the second canyon and climbing up the wall and pulled the boat up and left it for later. -- ghd

I did Six Mile on the Klondike trek. It was amazing, but painfully freezing.
