Gillan simply must be in purple. Coverdale is terrible. Blackmore is amazing but morse replaces him perfectly.

I am watching all these guys trying to do Blackmores riff , and there is just something missing . thats the difference between originators and copy cats . sorry Blackmore is one of the greatest of all time . love him or hate him .

I would agree that there is not a band that comes or even came close to DP in their 70s prime but the DP you saw was NOT DP at all No Blackmore No Lord NO DEEP PURPLE!!! Steve Morse is a great Guitarist and Don Airey is a fine keyboard player but Blackmore and Lord are irreplaceable IMHO
