@skewlboypin You are right of course. Never noticed that before. The uncut scene in the play hysterically funny.
There's a moment when, talking about the capturing of HMQ's imagine Blunt says something about primitive tribes believing that an image confers some power on the possessor. HMQ says: 'if I believed that, Sir Anthony, I am in the pocket of anyone with a handful of change."
They've cut the passage from the play where HMQ, talking about Blunt's Poussin, says: "I'm not asking you to make me a present of it. That was one of my grandmother's tricks. Queen Mary. Acquired no end of stuff."
I wonder if the line about the clock showing the time in Australia "certain circumstances could be quiet handy" was a sutble refence to the Whitlam Dismissal.
Thanks for uploading this - much appreciated. I can't help but wonder if The Queen has a Youtube account so that she can comment on people's uploads etc.
Thanks for uploading this - I remember it well. This is such a contrast to TV today! Where do you see writing and acting of this weight and subtlety now! How lucky we were in Britain at the time to have this calibre of stuff served up all the time. Any chance of seeing the whole thing?
And how a bout Alan Bates in An Englishman Abroad to compliment it!
James Fox is one of my favorite British actors and Prunella Scales played " Sybil" in John Cleeves' FAWLTY TOWERS. Quite a change of pace for her to play H.M. the Queen
LOL....she is letting him have it!!! Basically letting him know that she knows he is not what he claims to be...lol

@Chevrondazur Sir Anthony Blunt was exposed as a spy for the Russians during the Cold War. I think that this shows that Her Majesty knew.
