@paularenas26 Do you know that with the way that your channel is set up, people can actually go and see you pasting the same comment on various videos? Do you really want to be a 'Copypasta'? This Ledge movie obviously pisses you off like crazy. I had not even heard of it until you commented on my video. You might actually be helping make it popular. Is this a new way of publicizing the movie? Is Matthew Chapman paying you to do this?

Matthew Chapman’s “The Ledge” should not be considered a landmark movie for the atheist movement in any way. Actually, I do not think there will ever be a landmark atheist movie. This is simply because the common public understands that belief in a god ultimately is not the product of dramatic theological persuasion but of authentic faith. Trying to sway people towards atheism with a one-sided script, such as in “The Ledge”, is contrived and comes across as ridiculous to the audience.

@AronRa I don't think it was intended to be historically accurate. it's a good film, nonetheless.

There are no inherent properties of not believing in a god that automaticly makes one more peaceful than others. There is a correlation between being religious and being an idiot, but I've seen many non-religious people being idiots as well. Religious people exist. If we are to deal with that we have to realize that they do. The notion of a polarized battle stems from a wish to keep it so. It's infact a fairly simple matter: Common sense vs. lunacy.

Yet another example of someone living in a fairy-tale world about so-called "mainstream/moderate" Muslims.
"Mainstream" Muslims make the U.S. Republican Party look like hippies.
Like Judaism it was founded by a warlord who taught that females are not human, and that you should either kill or enslave all non-believers.
However, unlike Judaism, and Christianity, Islam is still stuck in the Bronze Age.
That being said, all religion is garbage.
And there is no God.

What needs to be made is a movie of Douglas Preston's "Blasphemy", where the calls for violence from the megapastors actually get somewhere, where things like Rick Perry's "Army of God" actually begin to act like an army.

In Alberta, The CBS feed we get from Washington state, after Haiti Pat Roberson was replaced with little fanfare with a daytime info chat show. So maybe some people are walking up.
the first? i've seen lots of spectacular atheistic films. "the invention of lying", "creation", "agora", "the second coming", "the mosquito coast", hell, even "pirates of the carribean: on stranger tides" took some biting shots at religion. the "matrix" films did it allegorically, and it was always veiled behind the "star trek" tv series, and rather prominent in "star trek 5".

@neomp5 Of the movies you listed, I have only seen one; 'Creation' was NOT an atheist movie. It was offensive in its presentation of Huxley as an abominable troll, and its assertions about Darwin hallucinating the ghost of his daughter. Dennet's biographical movie of 'Darwin's Dangerous Idea' was much better.
