Fountain of Dreams (ep7)

AT THE FOUNTAIN OF DREAMS

Mrs. Marshall- This is one of my favorite places to visit. It's called the Fountain of Dreams. It's very important to the locals. They used to bring the older folks here to have a drink. It was believed that if they drank from this fountain they would live longer. It provided many with good health and strength.

Selena- *raises her hand*

Mrs. Marshall- Yes Selena?

Selena- So it's basically what we call a wishing well?

Mrs. Marshall- Yes, exactly. If you all take a step closer you will see numerous amount of pennies at the bottom. Why don't you all give it a try.

Selena- So we just throw a coin in and make a wish?

Mrs. Marshall- Yes, but it will only come true if it's destiny,

Miley- Cool! *Closes her eyes and throws a penny in making a wish* *opens her eyes* Hey! Where is my ice cream cone!

Classmates- *laughing*

Mrs. Marshall- if it is a wish for greed it will not come true Miss Cyrus.

Selena- *sits on the edge of the fountain. She closes her eyes and with one flick of her finger, drops the coin into the water. She hears everything around her stop and movements around her slow down. She gasps and opens her eyes. Straight ahead of her...on the other side of the fountain was Nick.

Nick- *looks up and sees her* *smiles*

Selena- *gasps*

Miley- Selena, what are you doing? We'll get left behind! *Pulls her up*

Selena- *stumbles and turns back to see Nick still staring after her*


BACK ON THE BUS

Miley- I hate that fountain thing! I really wanted an ice cream cone.

Selena- *laughs* But Mrs. Marshall said your wish will only come true if its destiny.

Miley- And it's my DESTINY to please my stomach with sweet and creamy treats!

Selena- *laughs* You are so lame.

Miley- No, that fountain is.

Selena- No it isn't. I actually think...maybe it works.

Miley- No way. I didn't get what I wanted.

Selena- Well I did...well at least I think so...

MIley- You made a wish on that thing?

Selena- Well...I wanted to fall in love in Brazil.... so I wished for it. Then when I opened my eyes, I saw Nick...

Miley- What! Nick? He was there? Why didn't you tell me, I want to see what he looks like!

Selena- It was so weird. I felt everything around me stop and there he was...on the other side.

Miley- *snickers* You're not going to tell me you think its your destiny to be with him are you?

Selena- Well...I mean...I don't know...maybe.

Miley- Sel, be realistic. Those things never work. It's just a myth and besides you don't even know if Nick is a serial killer.

Selena- We wouldn't have come to the country, if there were one on the loose Miley.

Miley- *rolls eyes* whatever. I just don't get, why you would even wish to fall in love anyway, you're seventeen. We have college next year, we haven't even registered yet and you're focusing on wishing for a world- wind romance in a foreign country? Come on Sel, you're smarter than that.

Selena- *sighs and looks out the window* *says quietly to herself* The fountain works...I know its does...
