french is for the cool kids... canada is just like a 60 year old guy that keeps giving money to a super hot 22 years old stripper (Québec). Québec is already independant, it sticks with canada until the old fart runs out of money.

I feel we can still offer each other a lot by being neighbouring countries.
It would at least allow us all to put decades of frustration behind us.

@Vineon No, but I'd like them to stay. In the end though , it's the choice of Québec. Canada has much to offer to them, and Québec has much too offer Canada. All I have to do is improve my French...

I guess what I'm saying is there is a territorial dimension to being a Canadian and there is a cultural dimension to it.
If I'm asked overseas what country I am from, I will answer Canada. If I'm asked what I am, I will answer Québécois.

If someone were to tell me he doesn't feel Québécois, I wouldn't try to convince him that he is because he lives in Québec. People know what they are. I don't believe a Cree person would call himself Canadian.. and probably would cringe at being identified this way.
Still, we're not really disagreeing. I understand where you come from. We're all Canadian citizens, if at least by passport. But you must come to realize that it is not what some prefer labeling themselves.

@Vineon I'm no separatist however, nor am I federalist.
I believe in a stronger Quebec wether part of Canada or not, and I believe that whether you are an English, or a French Quebecer, you are still a Quebecer.
English Quebecers don't naturally identify with Canada. We only identify with Canada when Quebecois nationalists push us to that. Quebec is not a land for the French, or the English only. It's for both. I dislike Ontario as much as you do probably.

@Vineon I'm sorry, but I disagree with you. Even if Quebec didn't have the choice to not be integrated into Canada when it was formed, it is still integral to Canadian history.
In fact, the Canadian stereotype of tall, strong lumberjacks comes from Quebec.
Our cultures are quite different, yes, but there are similarities.
I checked out your page. I see that you're a separatist. I respect that.
I understand your need to protect the Quebecois identity.
Canada should follow that example.

Long live Canada and Quebec. May we stay together forever. Deepest respects to the unique Quebecois culture from Alberta.
