Henry de Winter & His Hot Serenaders (Bratislava Hot Serenaders) - Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt, Berlin, Germany - Pfingsten 2004 (29/05/2004)
Crazy Rhythm - 1928
Words by Irving Caesar; Music by Joseph Meyer and Roger Wolfe Kahn;
"Crazy Rhythm" appeared in the 1928 Broadway musical "Here's Howe" which opened on May 1, 1928, and ran for only 71 performances. However, on April 12, prior to the show's opening, Kahn's orchestra recorded the tune with vocalist Franklyn Baur and it charted for four weeks, peaking at number ten. Violinist and bandleader Ben Bernie's vocal version of the song also helped to popularize it.
Thank you everybody!
We are very glad, indeed, that you all like it.
To markjroberts43: we would but don't have contacts so if you could organize it we would be utterly glad!
Affectionately Yours, Henry de Winter

A marvel of the age! Just in time for the return of the Twenties and the new Jazz Age!! We have the Cairo Club Orchestra here in Australia who are similar in style, but Mr. de Winter and his Serenaders physically teleport me to that musical era. And with such immaculate dress style. Wunderbar indeed!

This song is the quintessential song about the 1920s. It speaks not only about the music, but also about the pace of life. The Bratislava Hot Serenaders' studio version on their album, "Henry de Winter, The Bratislava Hot Serenaders" is a superb rendition. Buy this album! The arrangements are very similar to Ben Bernie's. In essence, you get Ben Bernie in stereo. What a treat!
Thanks for posting this. The studio version doesn't have the gals.
