Well it does have an on/off switch right behind your right shoulder and yes, I turn it off all the time in the shallows to save battery life and so as not to spook fish. However, if you do not modify it when you shut it off all the water drains out, kililng your bait and/or live catch. I really don't understand why hobie hasn't fixed this obvious flaw yet. They say that "it is designed to be run all the time". Really? You can "design" it to not do this for 4 bucks.

I reckon they're expecting a TON of trolling for keeping the pump working.. But with most livewells (especially if you use it to put your catch in--and not your bait) they aeration aspect of it does not have to be on at all times.I don't own one of these livewells--nor do I own a kayak (I'm very very very interested in kayak fishing..looking into getting one) but with my little boat w/ a built-in livewell. I just flip the switch to "on" about once every hour and let it run for fifteen min.

can u put CRAPPIE in it

water weights at about 1 kilo per liter

and now my battery died after 6 months. This thing is impossible to install on dry land due to the fitting coming thru the bottom, so it makes rigging then launching almost impossible. Honestly, I give it a D.

How much does it weigh filled with water?
$249.95

It won't fit in the Adventure Island because of the crossbeam used for the amas. This crossbeam is right behind the seat area and intrudes into the space above the rear scupper holes where the tank needs to sit. It does fit in the regular Adventure model, though.
