World Record in Demon's Crest: Phalanx (all forms, almost hitrun, no tas/potions/spells/switching)

My goal was to defeat all of Phalanx's forms in an epic battle, without getting hit once, also without any item except for the Crest Of Time.
After many attempts I have to accept that I can't get it done without being hit at least once... for now at least.
However, I hopefully accomplished my secondary aim which was to make the battle as entertaining as possible, especially during the first forms.
You have my word on that I did not attempt to manipulate the video, the rom or the emulator in any way - except setting a single savestate taking place right before the beginning of the video to spare me of the time needed of dying in order to restart the battle at his first form (there are infinite lifes anyway).

And I'd like to follow the spirit of Firebrand himself:
Having beaten the game in a liferun without potion (3rd ending), having defeated the Dark Demon without potions (watch here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyP7mb5dbZU) and destroying Phalanx with all these handicaps, I, Laosh'Ra, hereby claim the title of being world's best Demon's Crest player!

This is not caused by arrogance but merely a desire for challenge:
Feel free to prove me wrong by actually doing this run without taking a single hit - or come up with something even better. Alternatively you can think of other challenges which would qualify me for this title and I will do my best to fullfill them.

Excellent job, i will be making a true challange, it will be defeating Phalanx with only the first form of Firebrand, (No changing, spells, only take 0-2 hits, potions, etc.) i will try and do this challange and put it up on here. well good luck!

very impressive. at the beginning of the 2nd form, you can actually hit him twice before he flies up out of jumping range.

@lwc888 yea, but wheres the style in that? the first two forms are relatively easy compared to the last one: chances to flawlessly defeat the first one were 95%. flawlessly defeating the second form still had a chance of about 50%.

so i tried to avoid as many lame tactics and repetitive patterns as possible. e.g. there is no need to jump through the volleys of 4 smaller spheres in his first form, you can often dodge them by simply walking towards him before the first spheres reach the ground.
