@YzermanInOntario I think it was a cellulose spray insulation install. Thats what I am doing to my aluminum sided house....and the sprayer looks very similar to that hose.

this was a fantastic video. Very informative. I am spraying cellulose insulation into my walls from the exterior of my aluminum sided house, and this was the best video I could find to deal with the whole removal and replacement issue.

This video was very helpful. I used the techniques in this video to fix my aluminum siding. I was quoted $250 to have it fixed, but did it myself! Saved myself $250! Thank you for this video!

But i still don't understand why they won't snap back in, is siding made for a one time install and thats it? The method you mentioned is what i am probably going to have to do but just seems ridiculous that it works like this. Question 2: what was going on with the hoses in the walls in the video? Cheers!, good video, thanks.

All the articles mention this tool, they say it is needed, so this is what i bought. Well after fiddling again with the siding it doesn't work, it is so tight in there it will not snap back into place. So this brings me to my Quesiton....you talk about removing the aluminum piece and then cutting off the top bit, and then drilling and putting in a nail and that 99% of the time the siding will not "snap" back in after removing it. I did not find this info anywhere else, glad i found it.

thanks for the video. i do have a couple of quesitons though. My situation is very simple, i have a couple of places on my exterior aluminum siding that came apart. I have read several articles on the web (6 or 7) then i watched a bunch of youtube vids on repair. I tried fixing/repairing the loose areas myself for quite sometime without any luck. After searching 6 hardware stores i finally found a red handled Zip tool (very very hard to find in Canada?!?).
