LONG LIVE BRITISH GIBRALTAR
-
is that a trash can?
-
Alone it proves a thing: the European culture has evolved more as for the names, ha ha. It is not also usual nowadays be call Alaric, Wamba, Aquila or Roderic (Rodrigo). Rodrigo is today used, specially as surname in Spain, is very common: Rodriguez (son of Rodrigo). The theory of the German Taric is accepted enough by the historians here, though also there exists the theory of the Tariq North African, but no arab, off course.
-
Well, that's your opinion. But Tariq in arabic means "to knock" and it also means "star". A lot of arabs are named Tariq. It would be silly to think that a german name, not even used in europe anymore, should now be used among arabs today. So...I think it's pretty obvious :)
-
The troops of this Tariq are a few of germans and too much northafricans, islamiceds or arrians; a no catholic cristianism, very similar to primitive islam, very similars.
-
Tariq is neither Arab, nor Berber. It is a Germanic name, as Roderic, Alaric... Surely a noble fled to Africa because of the wars between Germans factions in sucessory war . He came to Iberia to help to a Germanic faction in sucesory war, but before the German and hispanorromana weakness he decided to stay and to be continued winning cities and territory. After comin¡¡e more arabs and islamic and begin the islamization of IHispania.
-
Actually Tariq is an arabic name. Tariq was of berber origin not visigoth. The visigoths reigned in parts of the Iberian penninsula. The german tribe that had reigned in nowadays Tunis were the vandals. But they were defeated by the byzantines before the arabs came to region. But you're right about the meaning of Jabbal Tariq :)

Jibb Al-Tariq means exactly Tariq's Mountain. Tariq or Taric was a chief visigodo in Africa, possibly islamized, that acudio in help of a decree in a dynastic war between visigodos. His initial helps I finish turning into the Moslem invasion of Iberia and Europe (in 6 years they came up to France). Look in google For Gibraltar and uxio nonceda or better: therockrvh
