@weldonwin Japan doesn't fly the F-14. Iran was the only foreign customer for the F-14, and they still fly them. Desert Storm behavior of Iraqi pilots around the F14, which did not occur around other coalition aircraft, suggested that the Iranian F14s were extremely effective during the Iran-Iraq war. Iraqi pilots tended to flee, but they didn't even put up token resistance to the F14 unless first cornered by other aircraft.

@Seirra54 I have a distinct soft spot in my heart for the F-14. I also play HAWX (And I'm jazzed about HAWX 2 next month) and I always love setting up Top-Gun themed matches of F-14's VS F-5's/F-20's, since, as you'll recall, they didn't have any actual MIGs to film the dofights, so they just got F-5s, painted them all black with big red stars on them. Because of course, the Russians were evil commies and naturally all flew black jets and wore black flight suits with black visors

@weldonwin After watching this series, I can't fly anything else in flight sims (right now only HAWX). Its fun to see people pull out the F-22 out and I can down them with ease with my Super-cat. Then again the best pilots aren't found on the 360 and those with the F-22 are often overconfident.

@pheenix42 The F-14 is actually still in service as the F-14D Supercat and the F/A-14B Bombcat, an updated interceptor and ground attack versions respectively. They may have fallen out of favour with the US Navy (Tech obsessed as the US military are these days) that still find extensive use by asian miliraties, the Japanese Self Defence Force in particular
