Zeani is a GREAT teacher: she can teach singing also to the chairs. And the chairs to, after hers lessons, start to sing like the angels....

Virginia Zeani is a magnificent teacher and you can see her living every phrase with the gifted student. She was always a very generous performer and as a teacher she loves to share her knowledge and technique. She is also quick to praise whenever good things are achieved. Veramente brava la signora Zeani insegna con competenza e delicatezza, cosi l'allievo non si sentirà mai a disagio e apprende meglio. L'allieva meglio nel cantabile dal recitato..

Probably Zeani never sang this aria, but she shows the clearer idea of the drama than the student. I know that this aria is extremely difficult, but I wish that this young singer shows some tension in the recitative --- both musically and facially. Zeani show both and it is interesting to watch how much facial expressions she has and how she puts accents on the certain notes.

the student's singing sounds pushed and nasal to me. The lower register sounds unsupported, too. The voice is definitely there, but I think we are actually hearing half of her real voice. She tries to sing easy instead of producing a tone that will have all the attributes of depth, three-dimensionality and roundness that it's supposed to have.Her voice is naturally definitely bigger than say, Freni's, but I believe Freni would blow her away in live singing.

performing which she inculcates in her blossoming student with all the loving

finesse & animated beauty she brought to every one of her triumphant roles!

She demonstrates the way to use technique as a means to an end in creating

the dramatic & expressive climate required by Verdi's sophisticated &

sublime music. Zeani understands the evolutionary process of becoming an
