She had a terrible Brooklyn accent and could neither sing nor dance. But...what a personalityl.

this is so awesome. Wish sound had come to films earlier than it did

No, she's not very good bless her, but at least she's entertaining and brings a smile to the face - unlike today's torrent of over-hyped, tuneless, plain but over made up efforts.

Alice White should have a film devoted to her brief, but (at the time) memorable career. From what I read, her "scandal" is NOTHING, compared to those from her time..and OURS TODAY....She seems to of had a charm and look that was appealing, and would still be attractive now..Hollywood would cast aside stars like this for new discoveries so often, that I wonder it poor Alice suffered from studio fickleness...

80 years ago. All those 'Baby Dolls' would be 100 years old about now! It makes one respect time and age.

is this an example of vaudeville?

Shes sexy and beautiful. Not the greatest dancer, but good enough. Not the greatest singer, but good enough. There was a different standard for some things in the beginning of sound movies. Like that messy chorus. Good actress, though. Catch her in Cagney's "The Picture Snatcher". He thought she was gorgeous.

Bless her heart - what a trooper. She didn't let a thing like no talent stand in her way.
Another great clip from one of my fave YouTubers. What a great print, too!
I love Alice White. She kind of terrible and kind of fabulous.
