@AllGunsBlazing They were both funny. Baddiel just did the mainstream (Fantasy Football League, Baddiel and Skinner Unplanned). Whereas Newman is more political and hasnt gone mainstream.

It's just stupid!
-
That's besides the point. Loads of the impressions on shows like Spitting Image were hardly amazing, but they were such good charicatures that became pretty irrelevant.
And this was a great little sketch, especially the bit where 'Melvyn Bragg' starts chanting "Yiddos! Yiddos!"
-
This pisses me off, cos David Baddiel isn't even trying! Loving the Newmanness though, his Bragg always make me laugh!
-
Brilliant sketch!

Probably because David Baddiel is still trotting out the same jokes- he was on radio 4 a few months ago and did the 'why not try a sandwich - like there is someone out there who still hasn't' joke that I first heard him tell in around 1995...
Went to see Rob Newman on his recent tour with Mark Thomas - they were both fabulous.
-
Rob wasn't seen as intelligent even though he wanted to be see as that, like David Baddiel was.
-
I think Rob's more critically acclaimed as a genuinely intelligent comedian. Not that that pays the bills!
Yeah, but he is now. His current political stuff is very acclaimed. David Baddiel is much less popular now.

Rob Newman had more comedic talent in his little finger than David Baddiel had in his whole body, yet Baddiel was the success!! =/
