http://www.calsinus.com Endoscopic Sinus Surgery of a Maxillary Antrostomy. LEFT SIDE. Patient with chronic sinusitis affecting the maxillary (cheek) sinus. Local anesthetic is injected into the middle turbinate and uncinate process (bone overlying the maxillary sinus). The uncinate process is everted with seeker instrument and removed. A shaver removes loose tissue. The seeker locates the natural opening to the sinus, which is then enlarged.
