Tracy Hansen's Aerial Rebel Gyrocopter at El Mirage Dry Lake

The Aerial Rebel was the first generation of a series of custom gyrocopters that utilized big-bore Volkswagon engines and dual rudder sytems. These machines were very agile yet stable. Tracy Hansen and Chuck Arnoldt built a few different variants, the generation after the Aerial Rebel became known as the "Ranger" gyrocopters. Tracy and Chuck built single and tandem seat versions. This footage was taken in the late 1980's. Trent and Todd Hansen used a quad to capture these great sequences.
