  • Nice image. Relaxing to Check "E" at 2am. Perfect. I think this was the second Sunny Ade album ever I bought. I found my copy at a little used record store in Los Angeles California. Halfway around the world from Nigeria... Music is universal. Such a great song. It still sounds fresh after 20 years.

  • I was feeling really depressed...then I realized I just need some King Sunny.

  • In the ʻ80s, Harryʻs Music on Waialae Avenue in Honolulu had Sunny Ade tapes; the Island releases also were out and random people had vinyl-- I found "Check E" on vinyl and wore it out. I wish more of his music from the late-ʻ70s and early-ʻ80s becomes available in the US....

  • The thing I admire in King Sunny is those sudden guitar riffs that pop out of a relaxing groove. Damn heavy funky.

  • in 27yrs old and i was raised with Sunny Ade, Obey and Sir Shina Adewale, Dele abiodun and co.. Damn i really missed those days when i was lil and my dad used to play all this music after dinner and then watch NTA news.... hehehe Nice One!!
