The New Zealand Black Sox have a tradition that they continue prior to each one of their games. Although this is a part of the Maori culture dating back to the late-1800s, the "haka" has become a ritual that fans from all nations look forward to seeing before the defending champs' games. Although intense and perhaps intimidating in its appearance, this demonstration is a challenge; a respectful invitation for the opponent to go to battle with them. This footage was shot just before their game against Mexico at the International Softball Federation's XII Men's World Championship (fast pitch) in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (Canada).
does the NZ chess team does this as well?

I went and watched New Zealand play Denmark, and seeing this live was worth the drive. But I think the stand off at the end was a little much. No need to try and intimdate your opponent like that. They already showed them respect by standing there while they did the Haka
