Stop arguing about war and widows and say nice loving things about music like this. I learned how to tune my guitar and can play this one perfectly. I just can't create the exact sound. Get the Zep complete book and learn it as it's not too hard if you are a moderately good picker/strummer.It's in G tuning DGDGBD.Lowest 2 strings down a full octave and highE down a full octave. The 3 strings in the G chord. Then tune down all strings a full octave.Friends is in a weird tuning though CGCGCE.

Like I said before, "my opinion is my own," whether it has value or not is based on what the other person reads into it. You believe that your comments somehow hold "value"? You keep saying, "Americans", what are you French by chance? I joined the military you did not. I am not ashamed for serving in the military nor your comments and lack of any real insight provide anything except bashing someone for writing a story which I guess you are "anti-war". I won't lose sleep over it.

I am sorry, when did they make you the song expert? This song "clearly" anti-war? Where did you get that assessment? People are writing about their experiences listening to this song, that is what this threads about. Good/Bad, it is about how the person felt when hearing this song. "How many widows did I make?" Good question, if they were firing at me and I fired at them and I am still here alive then who knows. Obviously based on your remarks you have little knowledge about Iraq.

@Jscots Army fools. Don't think your opinion on anything has value. After all, you joined the army. Says it all. Why did you do it ? Americans, what can you do
-
@stevescasa You were in Vietnam ? And you have an opinion ? about anything ?DON'T JOIN THE ARMY DUMBNUTZ
-
@Jscots Don't join the army then. Really simple. Same guy, how many widows did he make ? Why join the military and then quote songs clearly against warfare ? Stupid people

take two seconds to see the billing. its listed as having come from IV. and the uploader messaged me to acknowledge said mistake. douche.
One of my buddies whose wife left him just after his second combat tour in Iraq was about to blow his head off while listening to this song. Lucky for us we happened to stop by and check up on him. There he was, sitting a table, with a bottle of Jack Daniels (Green Label), his pictures of his soon to be ex-wife/kids, and a loaded 9mm pistol. Sherman was right when he said, "War is cruelty, you can not re-define it." I think this song may have prevented my buddy from pulling the trigger.

Yesterday I saw you kissing tiny flowers
but all that lives is born to die
an' so I say to you that 'nothing really mattered'
and all you do is stand and cry
