Check out studio 42 with Bob costas when he interviewed the late great Tigers announcer Ernie Harwell. He did one of the three broadcasts of this game and all were much less dramatic.

very funny , that that player is all over Leo.

Leo wants to congratulate thompson , and can't get loose from that jubilant player.

MLB Network's Countdown show "Prime 9" rated this as the greatest home run ever, who could blame them?

i guess i'm just thinking about this most recent world series. everyone knew the yankees were going to win, they went out and bought a championship: burnett, sabathia, texeira, rodriguez, matsui, pettite (again), hairston. when you spend that much money on guys like these, it's not like it was some great surprise. but you can tell from the announcer's voice in this clip, how close it was, how big of an event this was. yankees winning in '09 was the most predictable sports outcomes in a while.
