I have problems with this not criticize but to help. First you should Always hold one knee up, if you don't it creates bad habits, two when you stand on ur head putting ur hips up and down you should in a total handstand against no wall. and third don't call them Bubkas not out of disrespect but the exercise has been around longer than Bubka, he just credits that exercise as helping him the most.

@animeattic35 The knee is up in 3 of the 4 exercises. The one it is not is a strength exercise so I believe the other three cancel out any bad habits. And Bubkas are just what I have always heard them called and everyone knows what it is. As far as the head stand thing.. I really wish I could do those in a hand stand with no wall, but I am just not quite that good. Our girls can do it in hand stand with wall but my lower back and hamstrings are not flexible enough so I just fall if i try.

@gonnabcrazi That set up is actually at ECU. But the high bar is just a metal pole between two 4 by 4s. You just have to make sure they are deep enough into the ground so they won't fall, concrete helps too. And that the bar is high enough in the air so that you can hang without touching the ground.

just a suggestion on the kips..try to extend your legs out more before you pull them to the bar..used to be a gymnast and it will help more. i do swinging bubkas too..but when you do them are your hands in different directions? like one hand is in a pull up postion and the other is in a chin up position?

@lissaluvsuuu I keep them both in a pull up position. If they are opposite like in pole vault position it causes you to try and pull with your arms. Some people say to do it like vaulting, but it still wouldn't be the same anyway because a real pole is not horizontal over your head, but straight forward and moving. Pretty much u can do a longer smoother swing in pull up position.
