Eric Chandler was a two-sport star and a former All-American for Wesleyan competing in both track and field and cross country. He is considered one of the top runners to ever compete at Wesleyan.
He helped lead the Bobcats to four West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) titles, two in cross country (1994 and 95) and two in track and field (1994 and 96). He earned a total of 11 All-Conference plaques (three in cross country and eight in track). He earned his All-American honor in track 1995, placing sixth in the marathon at the NAIA National Championships. He still holds two Wesleyan outdoor records in the steeplechase and the marathon. His record in the 10,000 meters was broken in 2006.
