Barry, you are expounding beyond your level of expertise by making a psychiatric diagnosis for PTSD. It is much more complicated of a diagnosis. The research does not support your contention.

Hmmmmm. I don't have to be a psychiatrist to learn psychology nor comment on it. You are wrong. If pot doesn't help PTSD, then why does it help me and tens of thousands of others with PTS? And if that doesn't convince you, then why did the government concede and allow pot to be recommended to soldiers in the 15 states where medical marijuana is legal? Going by your rules, you can't comment on psychiatry either unless you are a psychologist. You aren't making any sense.

Its very difficult for me to see police as good when they are blatantly causing more harm than good.  Police should look like fireman and arrive to investigate crimes instead of looking like military and bringing charges against us with no victim. Until that changes, I don't see any American kops as good and you shouldn't either. We can police ourselves much better than police of this country who commit violent crime at a higher rate than citizens.

@lumeriam Did you know that other mental health professionals, who don't have the privilege to prescribe medication, use the DSM-IV-TR? When you obtain a license, please, let me know. There are other types of intervention that don't employ the use of medication such as abreaction, EDMR, etc. Humiliation is not a part of treatment. Competent clinicians can even isolate conscious awareness by using hypnotherapeutic methods that elicit amnesia of the session. You unconscious mind is treated.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a type of anxiety disorder that's triggered by a traumatic event. You can develop post-traumatic stress disorder when you experience or witness an event that causes intense fear, helplessness or horror.

Developed this after a car accident. Still scream in my head when people come flying up from side streets. You get used to it, but it doesn't really go away.
