I'm still a newbie at this voodoo camera tracking. But I figured out a crude method to get my 3d objects to hide behind real-world objects in the video such as trees and such. I used blender 2.46 the latest one so far. Give me some tips or techniques.

  • and what's that crude method?

  • its called rotoscoping. You might want to google it because I can't explain it well. All i did was create a plane that hid all 3d objects, and, frame by frame, I placed the plane in front of the plane where the pillar was, therefore hiding it and giving the illusion that the airship is behind the pillar. Don't forget to google it though.
