I heard Greenland is the world's largest island. If You go onto google maps, and zoom all the way out so it's showing the whole world, Greenland on the interactive map is bigger in size than most other continents.

On a flat map, landmasses near the poles are distorted and appear larger than they actually area, so Greenland isn't actually the size of South America. It's called the Mercator Projection.
