The younger generation of Simpsons fans like the new episodes because they are kids, and kids do not have a refined sense of humor. They dislike the older episodes for superficial reasons such as the animation is of poorer quality, and quite frankly, because most of the jokes go right over their little kiddy heads.

1) The Simpsons hasn't been great since 1999 aka the 20th century.

2) Neither are we? What does that even mean? So because people aren't falsely pretending the show is still as good as ever, that means they are bad people or not real fans?

3) It's the fans DUTY to criticise th show's declining standards, it's not YOUR job to criticise people's standards.

I'm brazillian. I love and watch simpsons since ever, and I love the episode where they make fun of Brazil. The simpsons make fun of everyone and I don't get why people here got so ofended. we do have naked women everywhere, whores everywhere, kidnaps everywhere, etc. Simpsons is huuge here too, we even have a moe's here. The people who got ofendend are a bunch of pussies who can't handle the truth. I'm loving this documentary.

AS for the new writers, Matt Selman is one of the better ones. Check his credits. On the other hand I never thought I'd get the chance to see Matt Warburton, who has written some awful episodes
