  • This is the memorial to the victims of communism on Wenceslas Square rather than simply a memorial to Jan Palach per se. The Jan Palach (and Jan Zajic, who also self-immolated on Wenceslas Square) memorial is further up the square next to the National Museum - it's a recumbent cross embedded into the paving stones and is remarkably beautiful.
