  • Hey man id just like to know. I can't draw but im not going into 2d animation. do u noe if drawing is essential for 3d animation

  • @RVBeEtZ

You don't need to be great at drawing. Some fundamental principles carry over from 2D to 3D though (like squash-and-stretch, anticipation/follow-through... etc).

Kind of depends on what area of 3D animation you want to get into.

For modeling, artists give the modelers images to work off of.

For texturing, I'd consider drawing an essential skill.

In the end, I don't think drawing great is necessary, but it certainly helps.

    I hope that helps you.

  • i love your animations! please check out my flash animations im 16 and was wondering if im good enough to get to university

  • @tomiatoe

You are definitely on the right track. You're stuff is great, especially at your age. And you'll only get better if you keep at it!

It's supposed to be Altair from Assassin's Creed

I was worried, too, but here's what I've learned.

Hardwork, dedication, and passion exceed any ounce of talent.

If you like drawing and want to pursue it, give it a try.

    Just be prepared to practice.

You can always change career paths if you end up not liking it.

It might delay graduation, but the important thing is finding what you love.

  • @tomiatoe Thanks :) I will, i have a graphics tablet, but its so old that it won't work, and it is probably gonna take a while to get a new one, so i gotta deal with what i got, and i have to draw on the computer, because a photocopier is miles away, and i don't prefer going all the way there just to scan my drawings :/ so i guess i will have to learn how to draw with the computer for now :) Keep up the good videos, i look forward to more great videos!

  • @Rs2006REMAKEVids thanks, nope i don't draw and scan. i draw all on with a graphics tablet! =) my first animations on flash were so bad it was unbelivable haha, keep practising and your animations will become perfect! =)

  • @tomiatoe Those are great animations! I just started using flash yesterday, i can't really do it much because of all the homework, but it's coming out pretty smooth. In total, i have about half an hour to work on it every day unless I stay up late. Were those animations created in flash? I mean, did you draw them and then scan them onto the computer or just draw them on the computer? I have to draw mine on the computer, it's going to take a lot to get use to, without a grahpics tablet. Good luck

  • LOL Your "Warning" Should be instead "Beware of Awesomeness"

  • @chocobosROK Cool! I'll be waiting! :D

  • @KaiserPein

Thanks! I'm really glad it inspires you!

I really hope to create more stuff soon (which I've said several times...)

Someday, when I get another idea I feel is unique, then I'll sit down and try to animate something.

And I'll try to veer away from anime, haha.
