I enjoyed seeing these guys at the Wakarusa Festival in Kansas a few years back. I love oteil's style and how he incorporates the lack of the slap pluck technique like most other funk oriented bands with bass players who overuse the technique. Great band.

Does Mom have any memories of Dave and his talent back then? I've seen him play a few times...it's enough to quell any aspirations to "talent" I might have regarding my own efforts.

well I will agree chris dfryar is an awesome drummer, however, He is not the only reason this band "jumps". Oteil is and has been acclaimed as one of the top three Bass players in the world. Matt Slocum on Keys is no slouch and Mark Kimbrell is a hell of a guitarist!
