It sounds like you need to advance the timing. It idles high and low, because the ECU is telling it to idle higher, but the valve-train isn't built enough to idle where the ECU wants it to. What ECU are you running? Also your idle is just a little bit too high. My friend did a D16Y8 mini me swap and used a P28 ECU and had the same idling problem. Very nice CRX btw :)

Looks nice but it's hunting a little and burning a fair bit of oil - maybe you should look at your valve seals and also repaint ya rocker!!! :D

nice car but the engin sounds a little weird... rev's is up and down... backfiring at low rev's .... dont know might wanna check it out black smoke sigh

d16a1 d16a8 d16a9 d16zc, these's codes all apply to the engine in the car they are just stanp differantly in certain models, for example uk crx/civic ed9 16i is a d16a9
a rover 216 gti is a d16a8
jdm ed9 is a d16zc but after 87 there all the same engine
