@gwenevic The club is swung on an arc swinging down the face is pointing out or right slightly the path indicated by your divots is to the left the ball will take off towards the right the direction the face was pointing at impact and then curve back towards the path the club was swung on (left), result for you straight ball flight
Hi i take a divet but they all go to the right why? if i aim at 12oclock my divets go between 10oclock and 11oclock but my ball goes almost stright. How do i get the divets to go forward thank victor
@MrKenpick if you are taking a good divot (one that finishes about 3 inches after the ball) you are compressing the golf ball. This means your are making a descending blow on the ball and squeezing it against the grass. This is the key to ball striking and if you do this on a consistent basis you will be more able to control distance and trajectory because you know you are always make descending ball first contact
you start with, first of all you need to know why you take a divot but you only explain how to take a divot so i still don't know why you take a divot! yours faithfully kenny

Greeting Paul,
I was wondering if it is important to determine your right arm / elbow position at the top ot your back-swing?
