PARENTAL ADVISORY! I shot this video at Tipitina's with my little sony cam. and a screaming crowd of 800 or so behind me. Our sweet little angels,Cathy Guthrie & Amy Nelson, are performing "Shit Makes The Flowers Grow" with their dads, Arlo & Willie backing them up.
BTW, Connie & me Mrs. G are the proud moms!

I want to respond to wompeter1 who said that the whole Guthrie Family is riding on Woody's coattails. I hope I can get you to look up what all Arlo has accomplished. He certainly is not riding on anything.

He has produced dozens of albums,and hundreds of original works, you won't fine a better story teller anywhere.

I can't say all I want to about the Guthrie Family and Folk Uke, with the character limits here, but I hope you will explore Arlo further.

@jguth3 Thank you Mrs. G. Just trying to set the record straight. I raised my kids on this music and it is just great stuff! Plus Arlo's story telling is the best. Where I live I don't get to see the rest of your kids, but I did take my daughter and her GF to see Folk Uke in 06 and 07, just love the heck out of them. Guthrie music has helped me through a few million miles out here on the road. You might enjoy the videos and strories on the road I post here,I make them for my mother mainly.

Thanks so much Mrs. G. I wish you could have seen my full reply, before I had to edit it. I raised my kids on Arlo's music and I took my daughter and her girlfriend to see Folk Uke back in 07. People say I am a good story teller. If it is true, I owe a debt to Arlo for setting the example as to how it is done. I own everything I think, he has ever recorded, and it sure helps me cover the miles over the road.. You may enjoy my stories and videos. I make them for Mom,but share them

The Guthrie Family: Lawrence Welk for the Woodstockers. I saw their concert, and it was so CUTE it made me slightly ill. Lisping babies, stale jokes.

Sorry, can't get on board for a modestly talented songwriter whose family is all riding on Woody's coattails. If not for the Guthrie name, none of these people would be considered special.

And they all "ape" the Woody style: cornball accent, songs written "Woody style"--but they don't achieve anything Woody ever did. Overwhelming cuteness.
