the pen is good to use to kill waterborn infectious disease when the water is otherwise clear (ie to prevent beaver fever from stream water in the forest) but it will NOT eliniminate the harmful chemicals and a heavy metals from industrial runoff or pollution. My guess is that the central park water has plenty of sickening chemicals. I would like to see him drink that water for a year or water from factory runoff.

Then they defficate (sorry misspelled earlier) in these ponds. They also dump pharmaceuticals in these areas. I have a steripen and love it and trust it. But I don't think it will kill HIV, crack, pharmaceuticals. Not smart

Ok, something Everyone must know before they attempt something like this in a pond in a major city! First off, the rodents are addicted to drugs because they lick the vials left by drug users not to mention condoms etc. Drug users and sexual deviants use urinate, dedicate etc in these areas
