@CourtneyP2210 lol that happens to me so much when I fly, i've actually kept count, the last 7/9 times i've flown it was raining! lol

@organics4me you should upload the video if you still have it, I love to see these things right from the gate!

Pretty cool to fly through those clouds!

Westjet only flys 737ng's which are fairly new. Besides cell phones, cameras and ipods have no effect, I think its more of a safety issue regarding people not paying attention, if there was an emergency.

Great video, especially the clouds and all the rolls of the plane. It's nice to see an extended landing - I'm a bit of a aviation freak too. If it weren't for the damn flight attendants, I'd record takeoffs starting from the initial pushback from the gate. lol

I did start recording from the gate, but chose not to include it here because, yes, the flight attendent was yammering her head off, and just as the pilots fired up the engines no less. Needless to say, I was a little ticked off at the bad timing!

The only reason the are cause these planes are old, as for that electronic devices can interfear, as for newer aircraft models allows you too. Yes they say it but they dont get a spaz attack if you use it in a newer aircraft.

I was referring to the F/A doing the usual safety speech and drowning out the sound of the engines spooling up, and it was too annoying to include that part on here. She saw me taking video and didn't say a word.

this is pretty new....looks like a 737-700 to me...and the electronic devices do not interfere ...its just some damn FAA regulation

Yes, it's a 737-76N to be precise.
