BIO: Veena R. Venkataraman (1936-2010) was the disciple of Padmabhooshan Veena K.S. Narayanaswamy. Few in their lifetime reach the level of veena expertise that Veena Venkataraman reached. His disciples of veena spread around the world in all the cardinal directions. In his wake, only a few others, such as Smt. Rugmini Gopalakrishnan and Smt. Kalpagam Swaminathan, carry on Carnatic music on the veena with that high level of technical prowess, taste, and sheer depth of experience.
